I actually didn't try anything other than Notepad++. It seems to be a good one.

This is my second attempt. It didn't take a long time because I took a programming course before even though it wasn't html.
There are good reasons to get used to one text editor, but once in a while looking at another can be surprising. I'm occasionally using the Atom editor because of the very helpful feature which automatically gives a refreshed preview of the way the HTML will appear as a web page. It is one step shorter than doing the browser reload with each saved change to your code.
